Visiting a Dispensary for the First Time

About Me
Keeping Things Natural

It's always nice to stay close to nature. Sitting under a tree and reading a book just makes you feel so relaxed. Gardening is also really natural and satisfying. But what about your health? It can be nice to take a more natural approach to healthcare, too. If that is something you are interested in, then you've come to the right place. Acupuncture. Massage therapy. Herbal medicine. We discuss all of these topics, along with other natural health care topics, here on this blog. We invite you to include our articles as a part of your own journey towards better health.

Visiting a Dispensary for the First Time

Going to a dispensary for the first time is so exciting. Not only do you get to buy cannabis products, but you get to do so legally, which can feel like a real milestone in life. If there are several dispensaries within driving distance of you, though, you may not know which one to visit. Of course, you can eventually visit them all, but which one is should you visit first? Here are a few ways to decide.

Does the dispensary offer deli-style service?

Deli-style service is what you typically see depicted on television. The cannabis is displayed behind a counter, like meat would be displayed at a deli. You can look at it, smell the samples, and talk to the budtender about what you see. Some dispensaries even let you select the specific buds you want and have them packaged up. Then, your cannabis is weighed, and you pay by weight.

Other dispensaries have all of their products pre-packaged. Sometimes they'll open the package and show you the contents before you buy. However, the experience is not quite as exciting as shopping at a deli-style dispensary. There's just something special about seeing and picking out your flowers.

Does the dispensary carry concentrates?

Cannabis concentrates like shatter, wax, and distillate are really fun to experiment with. They yield a cleaner smoke than flowers, and you only need to use a tiny amount. Many dispensaries carry them, but not all do. It's nice to look for a dispensary that has concentrates so that you can talk to the budtender about them and learn about them your first time. You may or may not decide to buy any this time around, but the knowledge will serve you well in the future.

Does the dispensary list terpenes on their menu?

Terpenes are the aromatic compounds that give cannabis its scent and flavor. Common ones include limonene and linalool. It's being found that terpenes do contribute to the effects of cannabis, too. Some dispensaries list the terpenes in various strains on their menu. This gives you more information and allows you to pick strains based on the terpenes they contain. Visiting a dispensary with terpenes on their menu is preferable if this is available near you.

Hopefully, this guide will help you decide which dispensary to visit your first time. Then, you can move on to visiting any others near you. It's a lot of fun to compare and contrast them. To learn more, check out dispensaries near you.
